Artists carry their work into a room before they explain it. An instrument, a way of standing, a line of colour, a practiced gesture: these are not props. They are part of the portrait.
This first series follows a violinist through strong blue and pink fields. The images move between presence and performance, keeping the composition simple enough for the person and the instrument to do the real work.
A portrait for an artist should not make the work decorative. It should make its relationship to the person visible.

Can the work itself be part of the portrait?
Yes. An instrument, studio, manuscript, material or performance setting can become part of the visual language when it genuinely belongs to the artist’s practice.
Do the photographs need a dramatic location?
No. A strong colour, natural light, an honest workspace or a simple Berlin location can be enough. The right setting serves the work rather than competing with it.
